On May 8, the Jiangsu University International Economics and Trade National "First-Class" Professional Construction Expert Consultation Meeting was successfully held in the conference room on the first floor of the library. Professor Zhao Chunming of Beijing Normal University was invited to attend the meeting. The consultation meeting was hosted by the Dean of the Institute of Industrial Economics , Professor Hu Xuhua, Head of International Economics and Trade, presided over.

At the meeting, Dean Hu Xuhua introduced to Professor Zhao Chunming the development of the college's career in recent years and the construction process of the international economics and trade major. Professor Zhao Chunming fully affirmed the development of the college, and congratulated the international economics and trade major for being approved as a national "first-class" major construction point. He pointed out that the college should, in accordance with the policy requirements of the Ministry of Education of the Ministry of Education of “adhere to the basis for the promotion of the'four returns'”, seize the important development opportunity of the approval of national “first-class” majors, concentrate superior resources, and set up a national-level first-class curriculum. Breakthroughs have been made in construction, curriculum ideological and political construction, publication of excellent textbooks, and awards of national student competitions to ensure that they pass the assessment and acceptance after three years. Professor Zhao also emphasized that professional construction should focus on differentiation and promote high-level professional construction based on regional characteristics. Other participating experts also expressed their opinions on the next step of national "first-class" professional construction.

The successful holding of this consultation meeting not only pointed out the direction for the construction of national "first-class" majors in international economics and trade, but also had important guiding significance for accelerating the construction of high-level undergraduate education in the college.
